A new year & What I have learnt so far

Whoop!!! Im finally back home from school and I’m legit so excited to start blogging again. I’ve really missed this little space of mine more than I thought I would. I want to say a big thank you to my readers, though Ive not been on here for a while my stats still glowing. And also to everyone who supports me and my journey, Thank you!

My birthday was a couple of days ago, Saturday precisely and I thought it’d be nice to share a few things I’ve learnt over the years. So this post is sort of a motivational post forged out of personal mistakes I have made over the years. So let’s get right into it.

1. You don’t know:
You never (ever) actually know what’s going on in someone’s life except they deliberately let you in on it. So don’t make assumptions from the life documentations seen on social media. You don’t see the struggles and imperfections on there just the results!

I have seen lots of people fall into the traps of envy and discontentment because of this! (Heck, I’ve fallen into those traps as well but that was before I made a conscious choice to be happy). And that’s a choice, I urge everyone to take.

2. Pick one thing you love and be consistent at it:
I’m not saying don’t be a jack of all trades if that’s what you want but it’s always better to be a master of 1 than mediocre in 50. Nobody likes mediocre!

So pick a niche, idea or profession and work your a** off till you’re on top of the game, that’s where consistency and commitment comes in.

3. You will always be criticised:
At every point in my life, even times when I thought I was doing okay, I get criticism one way or the other. Sometimes this can be a good thing but most importantly you should never let it bring you down.

I realized that, criticism or not, you still have to do what you gotta do. I found this quote somewhere on the Internet “If you don’t want to be criticised, say nothing, do nothing and be nothing.

4. You must make it happen because nobody can do it for you:
If you want to be a better blogger, then work on improving the value of your content. If you want to be a stylist, start styling. If you want to do good in the world, then start doing good!

It’s actually not hard but you have to realize that nobody is going to do the work for you. In the end, your life is going to be what you make of it!

So that’s it for now, I’m currently still learning and unlearning so many things in my life.

P.s-Do subscribe to my blog, there’s a form on the side bar and on the menu!

What have you learnt or are you currently learning over the years. I’d love to know!
