One of my bloggoals at the beginning of this year was to create an active segment on my blog for the sharing of blog tips. I have been in the game for a little more than a year now and I am no expert but there are some useful tips here and there which I would gladly share. We all know how important it is to have a good blog layout and this is a factor that keeps readers on your blog. Personally, I love themes that are very minimal and clean just like the one I’m using on my blog right now. But the problem is most of these are super expensive with the cheapest going for about $35.
With the way the economy is, I’m aware not everyone can be spending that much just to get a good, simple layout for their blog. I decided to put together a list of free, WordPress themes that any self hosted blog can use which would give the same effects as using a premium theme.
Most of the websites where I got these themes from also have other free themes, so feel free to check for more if these ones do not catch your fancy.
While all the themes I highlighted in this post are very minimal, I really like this one because of the color palette. It all just seems to go perfectly well and this theme would definitely be suitable for all types of bloggers.
This is for the highly minimal bloggers who want to keep to their blog’s colour scheme to only a few colors.
This was the first theme I used on my blog when I got self hosted and I absolutely loved it. It was my ride or die for a long while before I realized I needed more.
I have seen this theme on only one other blog and it is very different from the norm. It’s on the edge (forgive the pun) of being minimal but then with a different layout and vibe.
I don’t know why this theme keeps screaming fashion blog to me! It definitely like a great theme for bloggers that upload a lot of pictures irrespective of the niche. I’m also a sucker for round pictures in the About Me section.
There are lots of free/amazing themes on the internet but these 5 have been curated with love by me. They are some of the best out there. What theme do you currently use on your blog, Is it free or premium?
Also which of these themes above is your favorite? Let’s discuss in the comments section!
